My Last Supper: One Meal, a Lifetime in the Making

Baillie Gifford Borders Book Festival Online 2020
Broadcast Date
Sunday 6 September

A firm Borders Book Festival favourite, Jay pays us an online visit to talk about a book that asks an age-old question. You are about to die. What would your final meal be?

Unwilling to wait for his own moment of expiry to answer this, Jay embarks on a foodie safari to discover the answer. From oysters in Louisiana to pastries in Tokyo, his research is both exhaustive and onerous, but he does finally arrive at what would be an unforgettable meal.

Between courses, this hungry man finds space for a few autobiographical amuse-bouches, some tasty anecdotes and lashings of his traditional, superb sense of humour.

Jay will be sharing a (virtual) table with Viv Groskop.
