John is a prolific and highly respected journalist, author and commentator. Former foreign correspondent at the Daily Telegraph in Berlin and Moscow, political correspondent for the FT and Newsnight, editor of the New Statesman, founder chair of the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate and the Creative Industries Federation. Somehow in that time he’s written seven fascinating books: Inside Yeltsin’s Russia, Robin Cook, Blair’s Wars, The Rich, Freedom for Sale, Why the Germans Do it Better, and now In Search of Berlin. He joins his friend Rory Bremner for a wide-ranging interview about his many books, interests and the state of the world.
