We all recognise him as one of the BBC’s best, most objective, even fearless reporters, as well as the host of Mastermind. But behind the Clive Myrie on screen, there is another story. In Everything Is Everything, A Memoir of Love, Hate and Hope, we read of a man proud of his roots, but determined not to be defined by his background. As a Bolton teenager with a paper round, Clive read what he delivered and dreamed of being a journalist. In this beautifully written memoir, he tells how his family’s history shaped his view of the world, and he introduces us to his Windrush generation parents and his deeper family. This memorable book is a superb blend of the personal and the professional and how each has intersected in Clive’s life and career. It is a story of love and hate – but also of hope.
